TWO LOTS AVAILABLE ON OUR BEAUTIFUL 8 ACRES
Want to live more environmentally sustainably and give homesteading a try?
Since 2005 The Curtis Pike Community has been committed to a lifestyle of living lightly on the land. We currently have two lots available for others interested in living in an eco-friendly manner in a supportive community.
Located 20 miles south of Lexington just minutes from the heart of a college town, our 8 acres of land includes wooded areas, a large barn, common house, horse barn with pasture, back-up water supply, chicken coop and more.
Our two residential homes (currently occupied) incorporate many green building features including large South-facing windows which provide solar heating; insulated indoor and outdoor shades to help control heat in summer; wood stove to provide back up heat in winter; solar water heater; rain water collection; grey water gardens and composting toilets.
Newcomers may choose to participate in our community life or may live independently. Lots could be leased for portable dwellings such as tiny homes or arrangements could be made to build a more permanent structure. Find out more about what our life together is like on the page Who We Are.
